IDF SLP Certification Day at St. Joseph's School

IDF-SLP (Student Leadership Programme) Certification Day was organized at St. Joseph's High School,Vikhroli (W), Mumbai on 11th April 2016.  

Mr. Anil Shivdasan, IDF SLP Mentor appreciated the role played by student leaders and presented them with Appreciation Certificate.  The students did their best in public speaking and creativity.

The Principal of the School Fr.Merwin appreciate Indian Development Foundation's social initiative in creating student leaders involving volunteers.  Fr. Merwin also thanked Mr. Anil Shivdasan, an alumni of the the school who took special care to train students.

IDF proposes to start a Bal Gurukul

Goodness knows no boundaries be it mental, physical or emotional.... wonderful unsung heroes on this path of imparting education and doing their bit to raise responsible citizens ...a heartfelt gratitude to Shama Taraporewala principal of Anjuman Islam Mumbai central and Shekha Khan our wonderful social ambassador.

IDF proposes to start a Bal Gurukul, an English coaching through Skype and also Student Leadership Programme from June/July 2016.

Organic Terrace Gardening Worksop at IDF COFE, Bangalore

IDF organized Organic Terrace Gardening 

The Organic Terrace Gardening (OTG) workshop organised by Indian Development Foundation at the IDF Centre of Excellence was a grand success, with an overwhelming response from the residents of Balaji Layout and people from other parts of the city, said Dr. S. Franklin, CE, IDF.  The OTG was organized on 2nd April 2016.

Dr. Vishwanath Kadur, popularly known as the father of Terrace Gardening in Bangalore, was invited as the Guest Speaker at the OTG workshop. He said that we need not use pesticides if we know how to prevent them. He emphasised that pest could be avoided using traditional organic methods of farming; and we can enjoy tasty vegetables and fruits uncontaminated by pesticides.

Ms. Poornima Kalalae gave an educative presentation on various aspects including "the uses of terrace gardening, converting household wastes into compost, what to grow when? How to create a perfect potting mix? How and when to sow and prune.

Many prominent persons from the locality - Mr. Srivatsan, the Layout Welfare Association Secretary, Mr. Nagaraj Rao, The President and Mr. Sanjeevaiah, the Director, Balaji Layout - graced the event and extended all possible support.

Mr. Ramakrishnan proposed a vote of thanks. Ms. Vidya compered at the function.

Valedictory for the students of IDF Kalam Bal Gurukul @ Bangalore....... The students had a satisfied year of coaching and now they are all set for their vacation.
