IDF welcomes New Year 2018 with a difference

Indian Development Foundation organized its 34th Citizens' Reach-out Programme at Vimala Dermatological Centre (a leprosy hospital) in Mumbai to welcome New Year 2018 with a difference (30-12-17). Guests of Honour included - Dr. Vandana Lulla, Dr. Suresh Nair, Dr. Vijetha Shetty, Dr. Latha Venkat, Mrs. Padmaja Kutty, Mrs. Larzy Varghese, Dr. Rekha Bajaj  and Rev. Sr. Hubert.  Volunteers from Vivek College, UPG College, Bhavans College, Aashayein and Umeed Team and Social Ambassadors participated in the mega event to spread happiness among the inmates and the children. Dr. AP Jayaraman, Dr. Narayan Iyer, Shashank Shetty and Columba Kalidhar spoke on the `Spirit of Reach-out'. Parle Products donated biscuits, Royal Fashion donated towels and other Samaritans sponsored various eatables and gifts. Master Saikrishna  did a solo performance, Master Sahil Rupani gave a wonderful speech, Vimala Angels, Vivek College students made a thrilling entertainment while the Singers Vijaya Shanker, Mahesh Jayaraman, Pulkit Rajvanshi, Vinod Seshadri, Dr. Sunila Jaggi and others gave a soul touching musical performance.   Similar Reach-out programmes were organized by Team IDF at different projects and Bal Gurukuls in India.  IDF wishes you all a HAPPY 2018.

Diwali with a difference

Indian Development Foundation (IDF) organised a citizens' reach-out programme on the occasion of Diwali at Vimala Dermatological Centre, Versova, Mumbai on 27-10-2016.  Dr. ARK Pillai, founder IDF spoke on amity and friendship to be spread across for a better society. Diwali gives an opportunity to strengthen brotherhood.

Mrs. Sagareeka Bhatia, Principal, RBK International School and Chief Guest for the function, congratulated Team IDF and all the volunteers for organising such a meaningful festival of togetherness.   Principals from various schools and colleges, IDF volunteers, social ambassadors and supporters - joined Team IDF in wishing the inmates of the Centre and children a Happy Diwali. Volunteers from J.M. Patel College, UPG College of Management and Vivek College of Commerce did an excellent volunteering at the public event.

Citizens' Diwali-Meet provided an opportunity for citizen's to meet and greet leprosy patients with fruits, sweets and gifts, and wish them a Happy Diwali and speedy recovery. The children of the centre also received new dress which was made possible through `Pledge a Dress' campaign.  This interaction between the citizens and patients had drawn public appreciation for over 33 years.    IDF thank all the volunteers and social ambassadors for making the celebration a meaningful one.

Indian Development Foundation organized Christmas celebrations at Kiranites Bal Gurukul, Zuari Nagar, Goa.   The event held on 19th Dec. 2015 was co-ordinated by Mr. Mario Quadros, Voluntary Officer, IDF.

IDF celebrated Diwali with a difference @ Vimala Centre

Indian Development Foundation organised a citizens' reach-out programme on the occasion of Diwali at Vimala Dermatological Centre, Versova, Mumbai on 07-11-2015. Dr. ARK Pillai, founder IDF spoke on amity and friendship to be spread across for a better society. Diwali gives an opportunity to strengthen brotherhood. He also lauded the members from Oracle Team, L &T Team, Nielsen, JM Patel College, UPG College, Vivek College, Sarvodaya School,WAH and UMEED Group.

IDF presented Karmayogi Award 2015 to Mr. Harakhchand Savla, founder of Jeevan Jyot Cancer Relief and Care Trust for excellence in humanitarian service.

IDF Volunteers, ambassadors and supporters - wished the inmates and children a Happy Diwali.

Citizens' Diwali-Meet provides an opportunity for citizen's to meet and greet leprosy patients with flower, fruits, sweets and gifts, and wish them a Happy Diwali and speedy recovery.   This interaction between the citizens and patients had drawn public appreciation for over 30 years.

Members from various Social Service Organizations, Educationists, Principals, Teachers, Students and citizens from various groups are expected to take part in this event and touch many lives.

New Year wishes from the enlightened elders : Team IDF visits Assisi Bhavan Oldage Home !!!

All smiles on the faces of the elders as they were greeted on New Year eve. On 31-12-2014, team Indian Development Foundation visited Assisi Bhavan Oldage Home, Goregaon East, Mumbai to share joy and happiness with the elderly citizens. Volunteers from Vivek College, Jai Hind College, SIWS College, Kirti College, Bhavans College, WAH and Oracle joined Team IDF to celebrate new year at Assisi Bhavan. Ajay Pillay and team gave a musical treat while the visiting members greeted the elders by honouring them with shawls and presenting sweets. Rev. Sr. Janet, Superior and Rev. Sr. Isabel from the Centre thanked Dr. ARK Pillai, Dr. Narayan, Prof. Prajesh Trotsky, Shashank Shetty and team IDF for the wonderful and benevolent gesture. It was indeed a meaningful new year celebrations, the visiting volunteers expressed with a smile. IDF has been organizing similar programmes on festive occasions in all the projects/ Bal Gurukuls in India.
