World TB Rally, Chennai
Indian Development Foundation organised a Tuberculosis Awareness rally on Monday to mark World TB Day 2014. Over 600 school and college students took part in the by the rally.
Students from four colleges and schools walked the three-kilometer stretch from the Light House to Labour Statue at Marina Beach holding placards with messages on the symptoms, care and treatment of tuberculosis.
Jenima, a class 10 student from Kendriya Vidyalaya, Tambaram, stated that 30 lakh people die across the world due to TB, with three lakh of them in India. “People die of TB because there is lack of awareness. During the rally, people asked us many doubts,” she said, standing along with her contingent of 32 students.
Even as the country awaits for the World Health Organisation to announce that India is polio-free, participants at the awareness rally felt that there has to be a collective effort to eradicate tuberculosis as well. “We have been successful in eradicating polio.
TB is a common disease and we have come here to put in our effort towards eradicating TB,” said Anirudh, a class 11 student from Kendriya Vidyalaya, IIT Madras.
M Narendra, CMD, Indian Overseas Bank, flagged off the rally. S Sreeram, manager, Indian Development Foundation, Tamil Nadu and Pondy was also present at the event.

IDF partners with ICFAI for Centre for Women Development, Hyderabad.

With an intention to bring about the advancement of women in three communities - rural, students and the employed the ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education inaugurated "The Centre for Women Development (CWD)" at its campus.
C Suvarna, Special Commissioner (Watersheds), Government of Andhra Pradesh, who inaugurated the centre said that policies have theri own limitations and beyond that it is the initiatives by institutions like ICFAI that can educate, create awareness ad empower women across all strata of the country.
Guests of honour Vanitha Datla, Managing Director at Elico Healthcare Services and Sanjay Ram, Project Coordiantor of Indian Development Foundation, enlightened the audience J. Mahender Reddy, Vice - Chancellor of IFHE spoke.

IDF Citizens Reach Out Prog, Vimala Center, Mumbai
Volunteers from Vivek College, SVKM Law College, Symbiosis, UPG College, NMIMS, DJ Sanghvi College of Engg., Bhavans College. WAH Group, WAH Kidzania, Bunts Group, Rotary Club, Oracle, Ipca Laboratories and others participated in the mega event to spread joy and happiness among Vimala Centre inmates and children.
Parle products donated biscuits while Royal Fashion donated towels. Vivek College NSS team put up a skit on education, WAH group and WAH Kidzania made a thrilling entertainment while the Aam Aadmi Band gave a soul touching musical performance.Monday, December 2, 2013
World AIDS Day Exhibition at Central Railway Station at Chennai.
Indian Development Foundation (IDF), along with specialists from Gremaltes Hospital and Tamilnad Mercantile Bank organised an awareness exhibition on World AIDS Day at Central station at Chennai.
While promulgating the necessary awareness precautions and care were prioritized as the disease is irreversible and hence early detection is the way forward. The railway officials appreciated the efforts of Indian Development Foundation.

World Aids Day Rally at Marina Beach, Chennai.
World Aids Day is about recognizing the worldwide problem of Aids & infection. Indian Development Foundation in collaboration with various networking partners/ schools/ corporate team organized a World AIDS Awareness 2013 Rally at Marina Beach, Chennai. 
Students from National Cadet Corps, CSI Rainy School of Nursing, Ethiraj College, Kendriya Vidyalaya No.2, Tambaram, Leo Matriculation School, SBOA School & Jr. College, Sivanthi Matriculation School. Dr. ARK Pillai, founder President, Indian Development Foundation visited Vimala Dermatological Centre on 3rd of July 2013 and celebrated his birthday with the children and inmates of the Centre. Dr. Pillai and team IDF distributed food to all the children and the inmates of the Centre and greeted them. Rev. Sr.Hubert and the entire Vimala Centre Team congratulated Dr. Pillai for all the support and prayed for his goodness mission. The inmates of Vimala Centre felt extremely happy to meet Dr. Pillai and they all greeted him with a smile.

IDF gifts 10 new Bal Gurukuls to the nation on Dr. Pillai's birthday.
Dr. Pillai rededicates his life for social causes as he enters 86 today. In his message, the `social soldier' and octogenarian Dr. Pillai conveyed good wishes to all the children in over 125 Bal Gurukuls spread across India. Dr. Pillai visited the leprosy centre in Mumbai, distributed food to the inmates and spent time with the Vimala children. IDF will strengthen its efforts in health, education and women empowerment projects in India and with the help of Samaritans, networking agencies and schoolteams, IDF will try its best to reach out the needy people, he added.

IDF congratulates the National CA Topper Prema Jayakumar.
IDF Social Ambassadors Mayur and Satendra met CA Prema at her house in Malad (W), Mumbai on 23-01-2013 and congratulated her on behalf of Indian Development Foundation. They also congratulated her brother Dhanraj Jayakumar who also passed CA examinations in the first attempt. CA Prema has become an inspiration for many in this country. IDF will be honouring CA Prema for the national achievement.
