Sweets at the University of Minnesota for Bal Gurukuls !!!!

Gayathri and Gowri, IDF Social Ambassadors, from Minnesota (USA) had put up a stall in the University of Minnesota during Diwali festival. The stall had personally designed greeting cards, home-made sweets and savories for the festive occasion. The proceeds of the sale were earmarked for IDF Bal Gurukul projects in India. Indian Development Foundation salutes the excellent social initiatives of both the sisters supported her their parents to reach-out children in Bal Gurukuls. Currently both the sisters are teaching English for IDF Bal Gurukul students in Bangalore using Skype facility....... Many more volunteers to join hands to spread goodness and spread smiles.

Kite Flying Festival, Makar Sankranti - A social exchange programme, Mumbai

Grade 3 & 4 students from Podar International School, Santacruz (W), Mumbai invited a group students from St. Catherine's School, Andheri (W), Mumbai for celebrating Kite Flying Festival (Makar Sankranti) on 13-01-2015. 

Every year students from either of the school meet and exchange greeting cards, gifts, 'til-gud ladoos' and kites. An event for kite making and decoration was organized by the the Podar school. Both the school students exchanged pleasantries, decorated the kites and presented as gifts. 

Students from St. Catherine's School expressed their sincere thanks for the wonderful reception and exchange programme. Podarites too conveyed their gratitude for the golden opportunity provided to spread happiness to those who need the most. Indian Development Foundation organised the social responsibility programme for both the schools.

Visit to Sarthak Manav Kusthashram (SMK)

Student Sensitization Program-
Saint Angela Sophia Girls Senior Sec School, Jaipur students visited Sarthak Manav Kusthashram (SMK), Galta Road, an IDF supported project where 40 Leprosy cured patients and there families are settled. 

Students distributed blankets and food packets to the inmates, and also sang Christmas Carols with the Ashram inmates.

Great way to celebrate Christmas week. SMK and IDF thank Sophia School for its continuous support.

Social Responsibility Talk @ Madras School of Social Work, Chennai

Team IDF - Dr. ARK Pillai, Dr. Narayan Iyer and Mr. S. Sreeram were invited by Madras School of Social Work to deliver a lecture on `Student Social Responsibility'..... Dr.Narayan Iyer spoke on the goodness journey of IDF and Goodness Unlimited. Dr. ARK Pillai responded to the students questions. Prof. KN George (former Director ), Prof. Loyola (Secretary) and Prof. Vijay Raghavan (Principal) were present at the session and appreciated the work of IDF. The faculties and students of MSSW will collaborate with IDF to spread the message of goodness. (28-10-2014)

 

Vibgyor High visits Oldage Home, Mumbai

Indian Development Foundation (IDF)  organized a student  sensitization  programme/ Field  trip as a part  of  their   learning  course  for  the  students of  Vibgyor High,  Goregaon,  Mumbai  on 17th Jan 2014 at  Assisi  Bhavan- Oldage  Home, Goregaon. Students from 8th Grade were part of

the programme. 

The students were pretty happy to be part  of  the activity and organized the event wonderfully. They played songs/ music for the grannies at the centre. One of  the  student  Meghna  played  guitar  and

others helped with the songs. The music were pretty much liked and enjoyed by them. The grannies also sang for the students. The students & grannies 

also danced on the tunes. 

The students also played a game of Housie with the grannies. The winners of the game were given cards & biscuits. Students also distributed cake, biscuits, key chains etc. The students also distributed other items viz; toothpaste, tooth brush, soaps, etc which was donated at the center.

IDF appreciates and thanks Vibgyor High, Students, Teachers (Ms. Pooja & Ms. Sudha) and staff for making arrangements for the visit. Special thanks to Sister Janet and the entire staff of Assisi Bhavan.

Charity on World Aids Day, SPS Secunderabad

"There is no higher virtue than charity" - On the ocassion of World Aids day  1st Dec 2013,  IDF organized a sensitization and charity programme for children from Secunderabad public school, Secunderabad in Sivananda rehabilitation centre, Hyderabad. 

Students of SPS school mobilized lot of food items, books, play things for children of the Ashram and presented them. Social ambassador Mr.Ramakrishnamacharyulu, teachers , students visited the Ashram and interacted with children. 

"For the good of the many - for the happiness of the many".
