A National Conference on Technology Vision 2035 (TV2305) designed by TIFAC (Technology, Information, Forecasting and Assessment Council) will be held on Tuesday, the 5^th of July 2016 at SBOA School & Junior College, Anna Nagar West, Chennai 600 101 at 9:00 AM.

    Dr.Anil Kakodkar, Chairman of TIFAC and former Chairman of Atomic Energy Commission of India will be the Chief Guest for the National Conference and lead the panellists and eminent experts towards Technology Vision 2035.

Indian Development Foundation (IDF) is a leading national NGO working for health, education and development.  IDF has an excellent track record of over 32 years of humanitarian service.  IDF has the Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council since 2012.  (www.idf.org.in)

Technology, Information, Forecasting and Assessment Council (TIFAC), a technology think tank under the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Govt. Of India, oversees technology trends and makes an effort to delineate possible technology trajectories that the country needs to take. TIFAC has made significant contribution to Indian S&T system by bringing out technology vision documents, technology assessment and foresight reports besides supporting technology innovation, technology infusion in MSME sector and patent facilitation.  (www.tifac.org.in)

Recently, TIFAC has brought out the Technology Vision 2035 document, an outcome of an extensive visionary exercise involving about 5000 people across 12 key sectors of national importance. The document was released by the Hon’ble Prime Minister at the 103rd Indian Science Congress on January 3 2016, held in Mysore.

TV2035

In brief, this document captures the needs and aspirations of Indians in the year 2035 and enunciates them in the form of 12 prerogatives – 6 individual and 6 collective.  A set of 10 Grand Challenges have also been identified. Towards achieving these prerogatives, a range of technologies at different stages of evolution have been identified as enablers in this context. This document is also being followed by technology road maps of 12 key sectors. A brief of these road maps is captured as “Technoscape” in the document. Indian Development Foundation is playing its cardinal role as S&T communicators in creating public understanding of TV 2035 by facilitating interaction between the TIFAC Think-tank team and selected stakeholder groups for diffusion and dissemination of the essence of the document

The programme in addition to the presentations on the main TV 2035 document by TIFAC, would also include plenary sessions on 3 sectors of TV 2035. The sectors are: Quality Education, Clean air and Potable Water and Safe and Speedy Mobility.

Students received school bags from Nielsen

Team IDF - Adhiraj and Satendra Prasad - visited St. Catherine's Primary School, Veera Desai, Andheri (West), Mumbai and distributed schoolbags to 250 students on 15th June 2015.  The schoolbags  were donated by Nielsen as part of their Nielsen Global Impact Day (NGID-2015).  Indian Development Foundation conveys special thanks to Team Nielsen for supporting education projects.  All the students felt extremely happy as they received the gifts.  The Headmistress of the school and students convey their gratitude for spreading happiness.

The road ahead always seems too long& the hills in front always look insurmountable but with faith in our heart we can always reach our dream. Today , this thought of the poet has really come true for us at Ashakiran.

 Last year on this very day we started our pavement school with 14/15 kids & nothing. The sun was glaring above & the kids preferred to drive us away. But Today we r having 50 regular kids & 27 vlntrs with us. 

God must be with us to help us cover this tumultous journey on a rocky road. It is really a moment of true satisfaction & sheer joy tht Ak has become a platform to change our society& we all have got a chance to serve kids who need love care & affection.

IDF launched St. Michael's Bal Gurukul & Teacher Empowerment Programme at Bangalore, Karnataka. Fr. Christy, Manager, St. Michael's School made the arrangements for the inaugurations,  Mr. Albert Selvanayagam, Principal of Bangalore community college was the guest of honour. Mr.Albert Selvanayagam conducted a motivation programme (Teachers' empowerment programme) exclusively for the high school teachers. Our special thanks to Fr. Christy, and St. Michael's School school for extending all support.

Team from Oracle Financial Software Services (OFSS) joined hands with Indian Development Foundation (IDF) for Mission W2K (Waste to Knowledge) to support IDF Bal Gurukul/ Education projects in India. Dr. Narayan Iyer addressed the volunteers and motivated them to be part of the goodness journey. Many volunteers came forward to teach children under IDF's iLIFT programme in the coming academic year.
