Mother Teresa Memorial Award 2008-09

We are indeed thrilled with joy and feel honoured to receive the message of our school being selected for the most prestigious `Mother Teresa Memorial Award' 2008-09', expressed Dr. Vandana Lulla, Director/ Principal of Podar International School (IB), Mumbai.

Dr. Narayan Iyer and Dr. Sharad conveyed the message of Podar School bagging the prestigious Award for their excellent social responsibility programmes carried out during 2008-09 in western India.

The Schoolteam under Dr.Vandana's leadership has done remarkable work in the social field and resource mobilisation for leprosy/ TB/ education causes, said Dr. Narayan. In addition to academics, the school has also been rendering excellent social responsibility activities through their CAS programmes, he added.

IDF has been recognising the institutions who are involved in the national programme for leprosy elimination and other humanitarian causes. The award instituted by IDF will be presented during the IDF Foundation Day in September 2009 in Mumbai.

TB awareness at Don Bosco School

Indian Development Foundation organised a Tuberculosis awareness programme at Don Bosco High School, Borivali (W), Mumbai on 1st July 2009.

Dr. Narayan B. Iyer from IDF addressed the students on scientific facts about tuberculosis and sensitized them on the need to stop TB. The students took active part in the awareness programme and volunteered to support the cause.
Rev. Fr. George Carlos sdb, Principal of Don Bosco congratulated IDF for the wonderful work carried out by the Foundation in health, education and rural development. Mrs. Anjana Mehta, Co-ordinator of the school extended all support for organising the event.

Mr. Raymond D'souza and Mr. Jayaraja Acharya from IDF were present during the event.
