Indian Development Foundation in collaboration with Standard Chartered Bank (SCB) organized Blood Donation Drive at 10 different locations at SCB offices in India for the staff members of SCB.

Mumbai BKC - 201, Mumbai Fort - 160, Chennai - 112, Delhi & Gurgaon - 80, Bangalore - 73, Hyderabad 62, Ahmedabad - 41, Jaipur - 25

TOTAL - 754 units

SLP @Sanskriti The School

Our students involving themselves enthusiastically in the wonderful sessions of SLP.

IDF SLP Felicitation at Elia Sarwat Urdu School.

55 students received IDF SLP Completion Certificate on 11th April 2015. Students from Elia Sarwat Urdu School, Malwani, Malad (W), Mumbai - got enrolled for the batch of IDF SLP (Student Leadership Programme) and successfully completed the course. Ms.Sushma Gaba and Ms.Memon Salma were as Mentors for SLP and trained the students for 12 consecutive Saturdays. The students were trained in leadership skills, public speaking, negotiation skills, career counselling and theatre art. The completion certificate event was witnessed by teachers and IDF Social Ambasador Adhiraj Ranjan Lokegaonkar . All thanx to Dr.Narayan Iyer and Dr.A R K Pillai to give the platform to us to trained the students with different skills. It was a wonderful experience for us and excellent learning session for the students. the students enjoyed and learned a beautiful lesson.A beautiful message was given by student Ms. Zeenat about her learning & beautiful journey which will b uploaded soon.the session was ended by beautiful surprise by the students - they played a drama in which they have covered the lessons of all 12 sessions ,beautiful greeting cards and lovely floral bouquets.

TB Awareness at Chennai Central Railway Station.

Mr. S. Govindasamy, IRTS, Station Manager, Chennai Central was the Chief Guest and inaugurated the TB awareness exhibition.

Mr. Govindasamy said " People should know about TB and such kind of awareness campaigns bring more awareness among general public and railways always support such awareness programmes".  He thanked IDF and GREMALTES for selecting the Chennai central for such awareness campaigns. 

Scouts and Guides from KV 2, Madambakkam and Students from Sri Shanthi Anand Vidyalaya distributed pamphlets and supported the event.

IDF ORGANIZED WORLD TB DAY AT COIMBATORE.

On the eve of World TB Day a rally was held at Coimbatore District, the District Collector Mrs. Archana Patnaick I.A.S., flagged off the rally from Collector’s office, the Deputy Collector also participated in the rally.  The rally reached the Deputy Director of Health Services Office, Race Course, Coimbatore.  College Students from Lesieux  B.Ed., College, Nehru Institute of Technology,  Kongunadu Nurshing College, Ramakrishna Arts and Science College, PSG Arts and Science College, schools students from G.K.D. Mat. Hr. Sec. School, Air Force School, Amirtha Mat. Hr. Sec. School, participated in the rally. 

Later a World TB Day Celebrtion was held at the New, Seminar Auditorium, Coimbatore Medical College and Hospital.  The programme started with the Tamil Thaai Vazthu, the Chief Guest Dr. A. Edwin Joe, MD. BL., Dean, Coimbatore Medical College & Hospital, lighted the lamp. Dr. S. Keerthivasan MD., HOD of Thoracic Medicine, Coimbatore Medical College & Hospital welcomed the gathering. 

 Dr. Mohammed Ali MBBS, Resource Person, in HIV @ TB, Member of Anti TB Association, Coimbatore, Dr. M. Sakthivel, MBBS, DTCD, Deputy Director of Medical Service (TB) & DTO were also present.  Prizes were distributed for the students who participated in the essay competition held in various schools; nearly 535 students participated in the competition, Selvi. S. Shubhakarini and Selvi. S. Sanjana Srilakshmi of G.K.D. Mat. Hr. Sec. School, Coimbatore, won the Ist and IInd Prize, Selvan. C. Navneet of Air Force School, Coimbatore won the IInd prize. Certificates were also given to the candidates who participated in the rally and seminar.   Dr. Arun Chandran gave power point scientific information about TB for the students. 

  

Mr. Mano Ranjit Lad of Indian Development Foundation compared the programme and proposed the vote of thanks.  IDF Admin. Officer from Chennai and Mr. Fredrick from Coimbatore were also present.

SLP program at Virajananda Vaidic Vidyalaya, Hyderabad.

The students ,staff and principal of the school were very happy with the SLP program and they informed that they have seen a lot of change in children in these 10 days. Few students cried that the program was over so soon!!! Teachers and principal wanted a session for themselves also. They were inquisitive to know regarding the program.  A few parents of the students also came for the program to know more about it as they saw a change in children after the start of the program!!

Mr. Vikram Singh from ICFAI business school (IBS) was our guest of honour. Mr. Vikram is a successful out going Student from IBS who recently got placed in HDFC bank , Delhi and a good supporter of IDF . Certificates, prizes were distributed to the students.

Appreciations to Ms. Sneha and Mrs. Rama for coordinating and conducting the program consistently and successfully. This is Ms. Sneha's second SLP program which she conducted successfully and first for Mrs. Rama. Congratulations to both.

Mr. John Augustine also participated in the program.

Ashakiran received its maiden memento for its pioneering work for underprivileged kids.

On 26th of Feb, 2015 Ashakiran received its maiden memento for its pioneering work for underprivileged kids of Nerul, Navi Mumbai area. The volunteers were felicitated by Gajanan Leela Trust. This is indeed a very special moment for AK , even more so as it coincided with our completion of one year. We all r extremely happy to frame this moment permanently in our mind.

On the eve of National Science Day, Team IDF (Dr. ARK Pillai, Dr. AP Jayaraman and Dr. Narayan Iyer) had a great interaction with Dr. Y. S. Rajan, Hon. Distinguished Professor, ISRO/ Department of Space and Board of Governor, National Institute of Technology Manipur. The meeting was held on 27th February 2015 at Mumbai. Dr. Y.S Rajan will be inaugurating IDF Centre of Excellence at Bangalore on 16th March 2015.
