New Year Celebration @ Blind Home

Happy Braille Day...We at IDF visited Serenebai Muncherjee Nowrojee Banajee Hostel for Blind to share the Happiness of New year with the inmates .But let me tell you friends they have amazed,inspired and motivated us with their talents and work.Being Perfectly alright ,even we can't do things so nicely, that this visually challenged inmates do like making chair,candles ,cloth hanger and so on.Salutations to them.God Bless each of them with more strength and Good Health. A good beginning of 2018..

A good beginning of 2018 seeking blessings from the elderly people at the Assisi Bhavan Home for the Aged, Goregaon East, Mumbai where Team IDF celebrated New Year. Team IDF along with volunteers and student groups have been visiting the Home for over two decades now. You are able to draw excellent energy as you go round the centre and speak to the elders.

One could see the happiness on every face as they received the goody bag from the visiting members.

Truly Blessed.

IDF welcomes 2017 with a difference

Nothing Better then this to start the New year 2017.When everyone is busy in planning how to start a new day Social Ambassadors of Team Indian Development Foundation visited Assisi Bhavan (Old Age Home) and celebrated the New year with Difference with the Elderly and seek the Blessings from them.

We also celebrated the Birthday of our dearest Rita Aunty. She is one of the inmates at Assisi.She felt so happy and showered the Blessings on us. We sang songs and prayed for all our friends and colleagues for Good Health ,Wealth and Happiness.

Team IDF also Appreciated the efforts of all the sisters who take care of the inmates 24*7 with all love by giving them an Award for Excellence in Humanitarian Service.Salutations to all.

The Youngsters from Sarvodya Balika Vidyalaay also participated and Seek the Blessings. Kiddos to them Being in 10th std still came in to spread the goodness and happiness.

Of course we missed the presence of our Dearest Ark Pillai Uncle,The Founder President of IDF. The one who has inspired and motivated all of us and created the Family of IDF. Come Back soon Uncle.

IDF welcomes 2017 with a difference

Indian Development Foundation organized its 33rd Citizens' Reach-out Programme at Vimala Dermatological Centre (a leprosy hospital) in Mumbai to welcome New Year 2017 with a difference (30-12-16).
Guests of Honour included - Dr. Suresh Nair, Mrs. Latha Venkat, Mrs. Sushma Mestha, Mrs. Chhaya Ravani, Mrs. Vijaya Shanker, Mrs. Tarannum Ahmed, Mrs. Seema Pardeshi, Mrs. Nafisa Bhinderwala, Mrs. Suman Murarka and Rev. Sr. Bertilla. Volunteers from Vivek College, UPG College, Khalsa College, DIYA Group, WAH Group, WAH Kidzania, Aashayein and Umeed Team and Social Ambassadors participated in the mega event to spread happiness among the inmates and the children.
Dr. AP Jayaraman and Dr. Narayan Iyer spoke on the `Spirit of Reach-out'. Parle Products donated biscuits while Royal Fashion donated towels. WAH Kidzania, Vimala Angels, Vivek College students made a thrilling entertainment while the Singers Vijaya Shanker, Suneet, Pulkit, V.Shanker and others gave a soul touching musical performance. Team Project Aashayein led by Shashank Shetty and Project Umeed led Salma Memon felicitated the supporters for their goodness and contributions. Similar Reach-out programmes were organized by Team IDF at different projects and Bal Gurukuls in India. IDF wishes you all a HAPPY 2017.

IDF welcomes 2015 with a difference

Indian Development Foundation organized a citizens' reach-out programme at Vimala Dermatological Centre (a leprosy hospital) in Mumbai to welcome New Year 2015 with a difference (27-12-14). This was the 32nd year reach-out programme organized by IDF. Guests of Honour included - Mr. Ravi Chauhan, Mrs. Latha Venkat, Mr. Kiran Naik, Rtr. Shreya Mehta, Mr. Shashank Shetty and Rev. Sr. Bertilla. Volunteers from Vivek College, DJ Sanghvi College of Engg., Bhavans College. Sydenham College, Sathye College, Jai Hind College, WAH Group, WAH Kidzania, Bunts Group, Rotary Club, Rotaract Club of Mumbai Ghatkopar and others participated in the mega event to spread happiness among inmates and children. Dr. ARK Pillai and Dr. Narayan Iyer spoke on the `Spirit of Reach-out'. Parle products donated biscuits while Royal Fashion donated towels. New Year celebrations @ MNB Industrial Home for the Blind, Mumbai

On the New Year eve, Team IDF visited M. N. Banajee Industrial Home for the Blind, Jogeshwari (E), Mumbai and presented sweets and gifts to the trainees and inmates of the Home. Mr. S. Shreeram, COO of the Home thanked Dr. Narayan Iyer and Team IDF for celebrating New Year in a meaningful manner.

Volunteers from Aam Aadmi Band and Vivek College joined Team IDF to share joy and happiness. Ajay Pillay and his friends felt extremely happy to celebrate New Year with the visually challenged persons. 

The visit reminded of the best quote from Helen Keller "The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched - they must be felt with the heart." IDF has been organizing similar citizens reach-out programmes on festive occasions in all the centres/ projects/ Bal Gurukuls in India.
