"Goal Setting Workshop " at Montfort @ Gorai

Indian Development Foundation Conducted a "Goal Setting Workshop " at Montfort Empowerment Park ,Boys Home at Gorai,Borivali by Master Nikhil Ambadaskar and Co ordinated by Social Ambassador - Kalpana Devadiga, Columbaa Kalidhar, Ruben Nair , Manish Dedavat and Memon Salma.

Blood Donation Camp @ Hyderabad

The camp was conducted for Niloufer Children and Women's hospital blood bank wherein the entire blood units will be given free of cost to children and women patients who need blood in this hospital. Hundreds of poor patients come to this hospital every day for treatment.

IDF conveys special thanks to Nishchay team and appreciate the students for the social commitment and excellent coordination and hospitality.  The blood donation camp was organized on 24th Nov. 2014.

When class XII student Shiloh Jessie Francisca was called to felicitate veteran oncologist and chairperson of Cancer Institute V. Shanta at a function on Friday, few had any idea what to expect.

Shiloh gave statistics of the number of tobacco users, about how it affected youngsters and provided details of the acreage under tobacco versus the land under paddy cultivation. She spoke of educating farmers and weaning them from tobacco cultivation to paddy and sugarcane. This, she said, would be the answer to eradicating tobacco-related cancers.

Shiloh’s speech saw Dr. Shanta smiling and nodding in agreement. Shiloh is one of the thousands of social ambassadors for Indian Development Foundation (formerly Indian Leprosy Foundation).On Friday, the IDF honoured Dr. Shanta with the Mother Teresa Memorial Award 2013. The award, which included a statue of Mother Teresa, shawl and citation, was presented by M.S. Swaminathan, founder chairman of M.S. Swaminathan Research Foundation. He said, “The Ramon Magsaysay [Award Foundation] recognised her for her compassion and humanism. Her presence is a source of inspiration and guidance,” he said, comparing her to K.S. Sanjeevi, who started the Voluntary Health Services, with the aim of making health care affordable.

A.R.K. Pillai, founder of the IDF, while praising her humility and benevolence, offered the support of the Foundation’s one million volunteers to create awareness about cancer and thus, prevent it.

In her address, Dr. Shanta said Cancer Institute had launched a project to create a registry, even for rural areas. The thrust of Vision 2020 is cancer prevention because prevention is cure, she said. “We have seen a revolution in cancer care. But, significant advances in medicine have increased medicare cost, making quality care difficult. Oncology care is neither accessible nor equitable,” she said.

Her concern was that non-specialists treat cancer without consultation with oncologists now. She said treating children with cancer made her happy as they would grow up and lead a normal life. Her only hope is to make medicare “affordable, accessible and equitable.”

"Reuse" Books - Distribution to Orphan Children in Missionaries of Charity of Mother Teresa, Secunderabad

It would take a rough average of 24 trees to produce a ton of printing and writing paper

KV 2 Uppal and Secunderabad Public School have Saved lot of trees !!!!

 

Indian Development Foundation Young Ambassadors school children from Kendriya Vidyalaya 2 Uppal, Hyderabad have created awareness, coordinated and collected  unused papers from each note book from many students of the school after the exams. IDF gave it for binding to make  it into reusable note books of  200 pages and 300 pages each.  

A set of these reusable books were handed over to Mr.Shaik Mohammad Saleem, Deputy Commissioner, Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, Hyderabad. Mr.Saleem appreciated IDF for inculcating this idea and also the efforts of the KV 2 Uppal  young ambassadors in coordinating this whole activity.

 

Secunderabad Public School, Secunderabad management have taken lot of efforts to mobilise unused books in school and donated these books  to  IDF to be given to needy children.

IDF AP team gave these books, pencils, pens, sharpeners, erasers and story & comic books, to children of Missionaries of Charity of Mother Teresa, Secunderabad on 19th Jun 2013. There are around 50 children in this home. The children were very happy to receive the books. 

  

IDF appreciates the efforts and involvement of KV 2 Uppal students. IDF also thanks Mr.Sankar, Principal and Mrs.Jayasree, teacher of KV 2 uppal for thier encouragement , guidance and support in this activity. IDF thanks Mrs.Sujatha, Principal, Mr.Augustine, Correspondent, Mrs.Vijaya, Vice principal and all teachers  of Secunderabad Public School for taking  efforts to collect unused books and donate to the needy.

IDF Trustee and renowned nuclear Scientist, Dr. A. P. Jayaraman  gave these books  to children of "Forum for street children" , R P Road, Secunderabad on 11th Jun 2013. Dr.Jayaraman and Dr Franklin from IDF appreciated the efforts of KV 2 uppal and Secunderabad public school students , teachers and principals. The children were very happy to receive the books. 

IDF received requests from many poor parents for note books and stationary for their children. These parents were invited to  IDF office and  the books were handed over to them.

Nishchith speaks on social responsibility : IDF young social ambassador

Nishchith in Bangalore is the young social ambassador of IDF. Nishchith (class X student from Kendriya Vidyalaya, MEG & Centre, Bangalore) has been associated with IDF from his young age. He has been spreading the message of goodness all around. Participating in various social projects of IDF and providing music at all events are his passion. He has been teaching IDF Bal Gurukul children and feels proud to be part of IDF. Nishchith is a great inspiration to many young minds. IDF salutes the young social ambassadors who are the change-makers.

IDF young social ambassador Karan Dravid (class VIII student of Kendriya Vidyalaya, MEG & Centre, Bangalore) speaks on goodness unlimited. Karan Dravid has been supporting IDF's social programmes from the age of eight. Karan Dravid got the title of the first youngest social ambassador of IDF and has been a great inspiration for many young minds. IDF is proud of its social ambassadors who are the change-makers.

Memorable Moments of Manaswi - IDF Young Social Ambassador

IDF young social ambassador P.Manaswi of class VII is the student of St. Anthony's High School, Himayat Nagar, Hyderabad. Manaswi has been visiting Bal Gurukuls and various social projects of Indian Development Foundation at Hyderabad. Speaking to students in the morning assembly and creating health awareness are her passion. She loves plants and calls herself as young environmentalist. She promotes go-green initiatives. IDF is indeed grateful to Manaswi for extending support during her free-time. We are also thankful to her parents, Mr.P.Sanjay Ram and Mrs. P. IDF Young Ambassador Ms. Manaswi spreads TB awareness among students of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Public School, BHEL, RC Puram & Hyderabad. All the students were enlightened about TB and all were motivated to spread the Goodness Message to their friends and family.

The students and the attendees were quite impressed by the awareness program compered by IDF Young Ambassador Ms. Manaswi and they believed that they have a duty to reach-out to the people with TB awareness programs. The entire staff of the school extended all possible support and promised to do their best in making the social program a grand success. Indian Development Foundation congratulates Ms. Mansawi for her wonderful work towards creating awareness and helping in creating an alert and proactive India.
