IDF Grants - Awards function for Karnataka region, Bangalore

IDF Grants - Awards function for Karnataka region was held on 11th August 2015 at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Bangalore. Highlights : Release of IDF Grants to leprosy/ TB/ HIV-AIDS and education projects in Karnataka. Honours to schools and students for their excellent social responsibility and honours to social workers and institutions. Chief Guest : Dr. B.T. Lalitha Naik. Guests of Honour : Dr. G. M. Vamadeva, Dr. T. Prabhu, Rev. Sr. Sandhya and Dr. H. Sudarshan (VGKK-BR Hills). Dr. ARK Pillai hailed people's participation in development work. IDF team geared up for goodness unlimited. Mother Teresa Memorial Award for Karnataka Region was presented to Sophia High School, Bangalore for excellence in social work (2014-15).

Indian Development Foundation released Grants to leprosy/ TB and education projects in Tamil Nadu and Kerala Regions

Indian Development Foundation released Grants to leprosy/ TB and education projects in Tamil Nadu and Kerala Regions. Principals, Teachers and Students from various schools in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry were honoured for their excellent social support. Mother Teresa Memorial Award 2014-15 for TN Region was presented to Montfort School, Trichy.
Dr. V. S. Venkatavaradan, Sr. Scientist was the Chief Guest for the event. Guests of Honour - Mrs. Prasanna Kumari (Principal, KV 2, Tambaram), Mr. T. S. Ranganathan (Director, GIRI), Mr. L. Mani (V.Principal, Erode School), Mr. J. Ravichandran (CEO, GLRA India) and Rev. Bro. Dhanran (Montfort School) - appreciated the work of IDF. Dr. ARK Pillai complimented all the social supporters. IDF grants are given out of donations received from public. Awards to Corporate Team, NGO Partners and Social Ambassadors were given at this function. Kendriya Vidyalaya No.2, Tambaram, Chennai played soulful music and put up a skit on TB Awareness.

A Talk on Leadership Skills in Kalam Style by Dr. A.P. Jayaraman at St. John's School

Nuclear Scientist Dr. A P Jayraman, a fellow scientist of Dr. Kalam addressed the students of grade IX and X of St. John's School, Goregaon (w), Mumbai and apprise them to integrate Science in the everyday life. He also inspired them to develop leadership skills in Dr. Kalam's way. Students were spellbound and did not want the session to come to an end. An enthralling and enriching opportunity for our students.

Indian Development Foundation Grants/ Awards function for Telangana & Andhra Pradesh Regions

Indian Development Foundation Grants/ Awards function for Telangana & Andhra Pradesh Regions was organized at Hyderabad on 4th Aug. 2015. Projects in Telangana & AP regions received grants for leprosy/ TB and education project. Schools, Principal and Students received Social Action Awards for 2014-15 for excellent social support.
Bhavan’s Sri Ramakrishna Vidyalaya, Sainikpuri, Secunderabad received Mother Teresa Memorial Award for excellent social work in Telangana. Chief Guest : Shri Naini Narasimha Reddy, Home MInister, Govt. of Telangana. Guests of Honour : Smt. M. Sailaja Suman, Dy. Director General, Doordarshan Kendra – Shri P. Madhusudhan Rao (Educationist & Philanthropist) – MSGR Swarna Bernard, Vicar General of St. Mary’s College of Pharmacy – and Dr. Raghu Reddy, Chairman, Continental Hospitals .
Dr. ARK Pillai, founder President, IDF, presided over the function. Mr. Imdad Shaikh rendered the invocation prayer while students from IDF Railway Colony Bal Gurukul entertained the audience with performances.

Children from Good Life Centre, Tambaramm, Chennai got a wonderful treat for their eyes as they visited the Rose Garden and other important locations in Nilgiris. Mrs. Rajammal Madam made all the arrangements to give the children a wonderful exposure. Team IDF had promised an excursion for the children and the same got fulfilled. Mr.Mano Ranjit Lad from IDF co-ordinated the visit on 21 and 22 May 2015. IDF runs Ramana Bal Gurukul at Good Life Centre.

IDF-USA successfully conducted a program "On Genetic Influence in the Development of Cardiovascular Disease Conditions" on May 17, 2015 at Econolodge Melrose park.




Thanks for the support from members of St. Thomas Church, DT Team, friends and supporters of IDF USA. Dr. Sakthi and Aravind gave an insight on the genetic issue faced especially by the South Asian Community which was well executed, 47 blood samples were collected during the event for the study. Special thanks to Professor Annie and Mr. Thomas Abraham for arranging the event and for providing banquet facilities. IDF USA will be conducting many similar programs in the future for the benefit of our community.

Indian Development Foundation in collaboration with Standard Chartered Bank (SCB) organized Blood Donation Drive at 10 different locations at SCB offices in India for the staff members of SCB.

TOTAL - 754 units
