Organic Terrace Gardening Worksop at IDF COFE, Bangalore

IDF organized Organic Terrace Gardening 

The Organic Terrace Gardening (OTG) workshop organised by Indian Development Foundation at the IDF Centre of Excellence was a grand success, with an overwhelming response from the residents of Balaji Layout and people from other parts of the city, said Dr. S. Franklin, CE, IDF.  The OTG was organized on 2nd April 2016.

Dr. Vishwanath Kadur, popularly known as the father of Terrace Gardening in Bangalore, was invited as the Guest Speaker at the OTG workshop. He said that we need not use pesticides if we know how to prevent them. He emphasised that pest could be avoided using traditional organic methods of farming; and we can enjoy tasty vegetables and fruits uncontaminated by pesticides.

Ms. Poornima Kalalae gave an educative presentation on various aspects including "the uses of terrace gardening, converting household wastes into compost, what to grow when? How to create a perfect potting mix? How and when to sow and prune.

Many prominent persons from the locality - Mr. Srivatsan, the Layout Welfare Association Secretary, Mr. Nagaraj Rao, The President and Mr. Sanjeevaiah, the Director, Balaji Layout - graced the event and extended all possible support.

Mr. Ramakrishnan proposed a vote of thanks. Ms. Vidya compered at the function.

Valedictory for the students of IDF Kalam Bal Gurukul @ Bangalore....... The students had a satisfied year of coaching and now they are all set for their vacation.

World TB Day Rally at Serilingampally , Hyderabad

TB Awareness rally in Serilingampally, Hyderabad on 28th March 2016 on occasion of World TB day 2016. 

The rally was flagged off by Mr. Nagender Yadav, GHMC Corporator, Serilingampally, Hyderabad. 

Indian Development Foundation, YASH Technologies, Sivananda Ashram, Dr. Chakrapani WHO TB consultant,  Children, staff, management from St. Xaviers School, local residents, DOTS providers,  and many more UNITED to participate in the rally to increase awareness on TB which is a global emergency. 

We thank Yash Technologies for supporting the awareness programs and participating in the World TB day 2016 events - UNITE TO END TB.

IDF got the direction

On 27-03-2016, the Board of Indian Development Foundation unanimously appointed Mr. Shashank Shetty as the Hon. Director for IDF Bal Gurukuls and Ms. Salma Memon as the Hon. Director for IDF Student Leadership Programmes (SLP).

The most vibrant, caring and affable social ambassadors - Shashank Shetty and Salma Memon - have been associated with IDF for a long time, spreading goodness through various social projects.
