Dominos join hands with IDF to fight TB

Dominos Pizza India Ltd. join hands with IDF to fight TB. Let's knock-out TB. Let's smash TB with DOTS.

This World TB Day, Dominos team will spread TB awareness through our team members and we will help in putting up TB posters and spread awareness by distributing handbills. We need to fight TB and awareness is the only answer, said Mr. Raj Shahi, Regional Manager (West Zone), Dominos.

We has been taking part in various CSR programmes in collaboration with IDF and TB awareness is going to be more effective one, said Mr. Yogesh Sood, Manager-HR,Dominos.

Yes, we all can stop TB

Indian Development Foundation launched the multi-lingual World TB Awareness poster for World TB Day which falls on 24th March.

Wg. Cdr. S. Balasubramaniam IAF (Retd) and Social Ambassador of IDF had the pleasure of putting the first TB Awareness posters in IDF office, Mumbai on 1st March 2010. IDF is planning for a month-long massive awareness campaign throughout the country. The multi-lingual TB poster specially designed, gives vital information on the disease. The posters will be distributed to various schools/ colleges/ institutions/ public offices across India, Wg. Cdr. Balasubramaniam said.

Dr. A.R.K. Pillai and Dr. Narayan B.Iyer expressed special thanks to India's No.1 Women's Boxing Champion Mary Kom and Tennis legend Leander Paes for supporting the TB Cause in humanitarian interest. We are indeed grateful to the great icons for coming forward to support TB cause, said Dr.Iyer.
Issuing a message for IDF's TB awareness campaign, the icons appreciated the wonderful work of the Foundation in humanitarian interest.

Nobel Laureates laud IDF work

Two Nobel Laureates-
1. His Holiness Dalai Lama and
2. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Yunus, founder, Grameen Bank, Bangladesh
appreciated the work of Indian Development Foundation in the areas of leprosy/ TB and education.

Dr.A.R.K.Pillai and Dr. Narayan B. Iyer met the nobel laureates at the CSR Thought Leadership Conclave organised by Wochkardt Foundation on 19-02-2011 in Mumbai. Both of them were presented with a copy of the book `Hope on the Horizon', a biography of Dr.Pillai.










IDF continue to serve the sick and the poor and confirm our dedication.

Miles with Meaning - Marathon for a cause

Every step will educate a child. DJ Sanghvi College of Engineering, Mumbai organised a marathon on 20-02-2011 Thousands of students and residents from Mumbai participated in the marathon and ran for a cause. IDF and Aseema were the social partners for the marathon and Education for the underprivileged was the theme. Cinestar Ameesha Patel was the Chief Guest of the event. Dr. Hari Vasudevan, Principal, DJSCOE and Dr. Narayan B. Iyer, CEO, IDF congratulated the winners and appreciated the participants role in social responsibility initiative. Look-alike Mahatma Gandhi (Dr.Sharad Nayampally) flagged off the rally while IDF's youngest ambassador Sahil Rupani (7 yrs) gave a motivational note to the youth.

Talk of Talegaon

Snehavardhak Mandal's Shaikshanik Trust, Talegaon Dabhade, Pune supported Indian Development Foundation's leprosy/ TB and education programmes.

Students from Smt. Indirabai Shevgaonkar Pre-primary School, Balvikas Vidyalaya, Dr. A. C. High School and SMS College of Science came forward and extended their helping had to IDF's humanitarian programmes. The students created massive health awareness on leprosy/ TB causes and mobilised resources to support the projects.

On 8th February 2011, the Schoolteam comprising Mrs. Helen Anthony, Principal - Mrs. Kiran Vaishnav, Headmistress (Primary) and Mrs. Dipali Deshpande, Headmistress (Preprimary) invited Dr.A.R.K. Pillai, President and Dr. Narayan B. Iyer, CEO - National Co-ordinator of IDF and handed over the funds voluntarily mobilised by the students for the health, education and development projects of the Foundation.
Dr. Pillai and Dr. Iyer expressed their sincere thanks to the Schoolteam for the excellent effort and appreciated the shining example set by them in social responsibility programmes. Every student from the school responded to the social call given by IDF.




Our students are always in the forefront of supporting social causes and they derive enthusiasm in participating in Indian Development Foundation's social drive, said the Princpal of the School.

Giri Trading Agency Pvt. Ltd., a one-stop-shop for religious items in Matunga, Mumbai came forward in mobilising bedsheets and dhoties for leprosy affected persons in IDF projects. The drive was a great success.

Interning for a cause

20 Students from ITM Business School, Kharghar interned with Indian Development Foundation from 04-01-2011 to 03-02-2011 and took active part in health, education and development work. The team organised excellent social responsibility programmes in IDF social projects in Mumbai and Navi Mumbai areas.

IDF thank ITM-B School students for interning for a cause.
