On Children’s Day 2013, Dr. Devi Prasad Shetty, The Cardiac Surgeon and founder of Narayana Hrudayalaya, was presented with IDF Karmayogi Award 2013 for his exemplary services in health care.
“What a memorable & fitting gift to receive on the Children’s day from the hands of IDF Bal Gurukul children!” exclaimed Dr. Devi Shetty on receiving the IDF Karmayogi Award 2013. Dr. Shetty said, “I am overwhelmed and touched by the young minds and hearts of the nation”.
Dr. Narayan B. Iyer (CEO), Dr. Franklin (CE) Mr. C.A. Mathew and team from IDF and a group of 25 children from Sri Ayyappan Bal Gurukul, led by the Principal, Mr. A. G. Prakash and Teacher Mrs. Amala felt extremely happy in celebrating the Children’s day with the Karmayogi of India. 
Dr. Devi Prasad Shetty presented sweets to the children and blessed them with hearty and healthy life. Every child gathered on the occasion presented a red rose to Dr. Devi Prasad Shetty. IDF has been honoring Karmayogi Award to the change-makers of the county. The earlier people who were awarded were:
Dr. H. Sudarshan, outstanding Social Worker from Karnataka, (2009),
Sri P D Singh, Educationist from Jaipur (2010),
Dr. Mrs. Y.G Parthasarathy, Educationist from Chennai (2011)
Rev. Sr. Bertilla Capra, leading Leprosy worker from Mumbai (2012).
