Shade Bal Gurukul was inaugurated in a simple manner in the evening hours of 7th July 2011.Mr. Stephen, Director and Mr. Thomas, Additional Director of SHADE and Mrs. Zakia Khatoon, Secretary of Blue Bird School participated in the programme. Students from the nearby area have been selected for Bal Gurukul programme. Ms. Angel and Ms. Meena are the teachers for the Bal Gurukul.
Mr. Samuel Vincent Zonal Officer from IDF spoke about the concept of Bal Gurukul and IDF's goal in providing education to the underprivileged. Children felt very happy as they got enrolled into Shade Bal Gurukul.
Carmel Bal Gurukul and Shade Bal Gurukul got inaugurated in Bangalore during the first week of July making the total of 37 Bal Gurukuls in India. Indian Development Foundation aims at 100 Bal Gurukuls by 2015.
