Inauguration of Deepak Bal Gurukul

Empowering children through education is the key to India's development, observed Mr. Dinesh Yadav. Thinking beyond literacy and providing educational empowerment has a great relevance in Rajasthan, he added.

Mr. Dinesh Yadav RAS, Addl. Transport Commissioner, Govt. of Rajasthan and Chief Guest for the function inaugurated Deepak Bal Gurukul at Tagore International School, Mansarovar, Jaipur on 30th July 2008.

He congratulated Tagore International School and Indian Development Foundation for this excellent education programme.

Deepak Bal Gurukul is an empowerment educational programme of TIS and IDF for the poor and the needy students residing in an around Mansarovar area. Students going to government schools and those coming from very poor families have been enrolled in this Gurukul. These students will be given formal and informal education every day in the evening for about two hours. Students who are first time school-goers or those who lack proper guidance from the family will benefit from this Gurukul. DBG will give an excellent platform for the underprivileged students to develop and transform themselves over a period of time. Teachers with social inclination have been appointed to run this empowerment educational programme.

Indian Development Foundation (IDF) a leading national NGO under its educational programme has already established nearly 16 such Bal Gurukuls in different parts of India. Two are already being run in the neighbouring villages in Jaipur, while DBG will be 17th in the row.
Tagore International School (TIS) has taken the responsibility of monitoring and running the Gurukul by providing necessary infrastructure and facilities. It's a social responsibility programme of our school, observed Mrs. Kamal Rathore, Principal of TIS.

The Director of Tagore Group of Schools Mr. P.D. Singh highlighted the importance of education in transformation of society and the role played by their group of schools in Jaipur. Similar empowerment programmes will be replicated in other branches too which can serve the underprivileged children.

Mr. Suresh Kaul, President, Sarthak Manav Kushthashram and Dr. Narayan B. Iyer, National Co-ordinator, Indian Development Foundation congratulated the efforts of Tagore International School in opening a Gurukul to empower the poor and the needy in the society.

Students of DBG felt happy about their being gifted with a Gurukul which will take them to the path of development. We are thankful to Tagore International School for opening a Gurukul and paving way for better education and development, expressed Pinky, a student of DBG in her thanks giving note.
