New Horizon students support leprosy work

New Horizon Public School supports anti-leprosy drive

3rd February 2007 saw a new horizon of hope for the poor leprosy-affected persons and children in orphanages when the students from `New Horizon Public School' in Airoli, Navi Mumbai came forward to lend their excellent support to Indian Development Foundation (formerly Indian Leprosy Foundation).

We always inculcate social values and awareness in the tender age which helps the children to understand the reality of society as they grow, expressed Mr. Nicholas Correa, Regional Head of New Horizon Public School. There was no compulsion of any sort, the entire New Horizon Schoolteam came forward voluntarily to give a thumping support to IDF.

A prestigious school in the Airoli area of Navi Mumbai responded to the social call of Indian Development Foundation and supported the programmes run by the Foundation. Every student took part in the national programme designed by IDF.

As part of World Anti-leprosy Week programme (30th Jan to 5th Feb), Dr. A. R. K. Pillai, President, IDF addressed the students of New Horizon Public School on scientific information on leprosy. Students have played an important role in the elimination of leprosy from India, expressed Dr. Pillai.

Mrs. Bulbul Sengupta, Principal of the School - Mrs. Jyoti Nair, Vice Principal (Secondary Section) and Mrs. Wilma D'souza, Vice Principal (Primary Section) joined Mr. Nicholas Correa, Regional Head of the Institution in presenting donation to Indian Development Foundation. Dr. A. R. K. Pillai, President of IDF expressed his heartfelt thanks to the schoolteam as he received the donation from New Horizon Schoolteam. Dr. Narayan B. Iyer, National Co-ordinator, IDF also thanked the management, teachers, students and their parents for their splendid societal support.

Master Viraj Mehta from Std. I has expressed `It is a very good cause and with this contribution lots of people will be treated soon and children can study well'.
