Getting to Zero: Zero New HIV Infections, Zero Deaths from AIDS-related Illness, Zero Discrimination

“Getting to Zero: Zero New HIV Infections, Zero Deaths from AIDS-related Illness, Zero Discrimination” is the theme of World AIDS Day 2012. World AIDS Day 2012 was organized by Vivek College NSS Unit on Dec. 1 2012 at the college campus, Goregaon (W), Mumbai. Rtn. Sana Rupani, Dr. Narayan Iyer and Mr. Vivek Gopal from IDF congratulated the NSS volunteers for spreading the message on HIV/AIDS among urban slums. Edwina, Justin, Karthik, Mayur, Manikandan, Hina and Revathy spoke on the topic. The students in their speech stressed on massive health awareness and education to stop the spread of the disease. Community participation and love for the children affected with HIV were also some of the points the students touched upon. Prof. Nisha Pillai and Prof. Shefali appreciated NSS volunteers participation in awareness programme. Students and dignitaries joined in lighting candle to mark the World AIDS Day and pledging to fight against the disease.
