Community participation is the key to better health

IDF Grants/ Awards Function at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Mylapore, Chennai on 8th October 2010.

Prestigious Mother Teresa Memorial Award 2009-10 was presented to R.S.K. HIGHER SECONDARY SCHOOL, TRICHY for outstanding resource mobilisation for leprosy/ TB work in Tamil Nadu zone. Mr. P Varadarajan, Principal and Mrs. Prema Jayadevan, Vice Principal of R.S.K. Hr. Sec. School, Trichy received the award on behalf of the school.

SOCIAL ACTION AWARDS 2009-10 were presented to Principals and Teachers for their excellent Social Responsibility during 2009-10

IDF CSR Award 2009-10 was presented to BHEL, Trichy participating in social responsibility programmes.

IDF Ambassador Award was presented to Miss Shiloh Jessie Francisca from Rani Seethai Achi Hr. Sec. School, Chidambaram for excellent contribution in social programmes.

IDF Dynamic Supporter Award to Dr. K. Padmanabhan, Managing Director, Sneha Education Trust while IDF Best Partner Awards were presented to Pon Vidyashram Group of Schools, Chennai and Damien Leprosy Control Centre, Nilakottai for excellent support extended for leprosy/ TB programmes.

R.S.K. Higher Secondary School, BHEL-Trichy topped the list in resource mobilisation for leprosy/ TB while the second and third places went to Pon Vidyashram, Valasaravakkam, Chennai and St. Justin's Girls Hr. Sec. School, Sivagangai respectively. F.A. Shiloh Jessie Francisca from Rani Seethai Achi Hr. Sec. School, Chidambaram topped the individual students list in resource mobilisation while second and third ranks went to K. Methun and V. Tarshaa from Pon Vidyashram, Valasaravakkam, Chennai.

Shri E. S. Sumesh, Trustee of the Foundation welcomed and introduced the guests, while Dr. S. Franklin, Manager-Southern Region, IDF proposed a vote of thanks. Dr. Narayan B. Iyer compered at the function. Students of Bishop Corrie Anglo-Indian Hr. Sec. School, George Town, Chennai set the tone for the event with a soulful invocation.
