Around 200 enthusiastic volunteers, social ambassadors and champions began lining up for the Green Walk carrying placards displaying environment protection messages early Saturday.

There are simple yet effective means through which each one of us can contribute towards change, the organizers expressed. Social Ambassadors from Indian Development Foundation and Social Champions from Standard Chartered helped in bringing a social consciousness and awakening for the morning walkers and joggers.

A young Green Walker carrying a placard `I'm not an environmentalist. I'm an Earth warrior’said `I am participating in the Green Walk to spread awareness on environment. It is our responsibility to protect nature, plant more trees in our neighbourhood, keep our surroundings clean and conserve water. Imagine a situation when we don't have sufficient oxygen to breathe! Let's plant a tree on our birthday. We need to nurture our nature.
