Social Awareness Fortnight Launched


St. Thomas School, Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, UP lanched a Social Awareness Fortnight on the eve of India Celebrating 60 years of independence.

Hon'ble Mr. Sunil Kumar Sharma, MLA of Ghaziabad and Chief Guest for the Investiture Ceremony inaugurated the Social Awareness Fortnight on 14th August 2007. Mr. Sunil Kumar hoisted the School flag and presented School Badges declaring the team leaders for the event.

The students gave an excellent colourful march past and cheered the guests and audience.

Rev. Fr. Philip, Vicar of St. Thomas Schools, Ghaziabad welcomed the guests and instilled social awarenes moments in the students. Rev. Fr. Philip congratulated the schoolteam and wished them well as they are ready to take up social responsibility for a fortnight.

Guests of Honour - Dr. Narayan B. Iyer, National Co-ordinator of Indian Development Foundation and Major General P. K. Janmeja, VSM, Executive Director, Global Cancer Concern India helped Mrs. Chandrika Kumar, Principal of St. Thomas School in announcing the Social Awareness programmes that will be carried out for a fortnight in the school. Dr. Iyer and Major Janmeja thanked St. Thomas School for identifying their projects in their Social Awareness programmes.

Dr. Narayan Iyer presented Certificates to the toppers of the School who excelled in CBSE exams during 2006-07.

The school wore a decorative look to celebrate the 60 years of India's independence.
