IDF Foundation Day - 31 years of humanitarian service
Highlights - IDF Grants to leprosy/ TB/ education projects/ Social Action Awards to Schools-Principals-Teachers- Students-Social Ambassadors-Bal Gurukuls-W2K Team/ IDF CSR Awards to Corporate Leaders for supporting social projects.
Chief Guest : Dr. Ganesh Raja, COO, Kotak Education Foundation. Guests of Honour : Dr. Kalim Khan, Director, Rizvi Institute of Management Studies and Dr. Lakshmi Mohan, Dy. Director, ITM Business School.
Dr. ARK Pillai and Dr. AP Jayaraman spoke at the function. Mother Teresa Memorial Award was presented to Podar International School for excellence in social work.
Students from Guru Gobind Singh Eng. School, St.Catherine's School and Mona Remedial Educational Centre entertained the audience. Mrs. Vijayaa Shanker set the event with a soulful invocation prayer.

Goa spreads goodness : IDF recognizes social supporters in Goa
The Goa Chapter of Indian Development Foundation organized an annual awards event to recognize the support from various educational institutions for TB awareness and educational projects in Goa. The function was held at Ravindra Bhavan, Margao on 19th Aug. 2015, Chief Guest - Mr. Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco (MLA - Curtorim, Goa) and Guest of Honour Dr. (Mrs.) Suvarna Fonseca (Vice Chairperson, Indian Red Cross Society, Goa State) appreciated the social responsibility initiatives of IDF in Goa region as they presented honours to Principals, Teachers, Students and Volunteers. Team IDF - Dr. Narayan B. Iyer, Dr. S. Franklin, Mr. C.A.Mathew and Mr. Mario Quadros - thanked all the supporters and exhorted students to spread the message of goodness. Singing by students from Our Lady of Rosary - National Anthem by Jesus & Mary Sarvajanik High School and Volunteering by Damodar Higher Secondary School.

Mr. S. Sunder Rajan takes charge as the COO of IDF Centre of Excellence at Bangalore from 15th Aug. 2015. With over 30 years of work experience in Electronics Test & Measurement Industry, Mr. Sunder has made a paradigm shift from corporate to social development sector. He started his career as Customer support engineer, gradually rose to National Service Manager and Global Head of services and finally Country head of Orbis, Finland. Mr. Sunder's passion for social development projects and train graduates through a finishing school programme has found the best match in IDF's CofE.
IDF Centre of Excellence (CofE) will be a great boon for empowering the youth of this country through skill development. It is a kind of finishing school for the graduates/ engineering students to make them job-ready and enhance their employability.

I am also happy to note that CofE at Bangalore will be a multi-faceted facility catering to different social projects which will be useful for all sections of the society. IDF Grants - Awards function for Karnataka region, Bangalore
IDF Grants - Awards function for Karnataka region was held on 11th August 2015 at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Bangalore. Highlights : Release of IDF Grants to leprosy/ TB/ HIV-AIDS and education projects in Karnataka. Honours to schools and students for their excellent social responsibility and honours to social workers and institutions. Chief Guest : Dr. B.T. Lalitha Naik. Guests of Honour : Dr. G. M. Vamadeva, Dr. T. Prabhu, Rev. Sr. Sandhya and Dr. H. Sudarshan (VGKK-BR Hills). Dr. ARK Pillai hailed people's participation in development work. IDF team geared up for goodness unlimited. Indian Development Foundation released Grants to leprosy/ TB and education projects in Tamil Nadu and Kerala Regions. Principals, Teachers and Students from various schools in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry were honoured for their excellent social support. Mother Teresa Memorial Award 2014-15 for TN Region was presented to Montfort School, Trichy.
Dr. V. S. Venkatavaradan, Sr. Scientist was the Chief Guest for the event. Guests of Honour - Mrs. Prasanna Kumari (Principal, KV 2, Tambaram), Mr. T. S. Ranganathan (Director, GIRI), Mr. L. Mani (V.Principal, Erode School), Mr. J. Ravichandran (CEO, GLRA India) and Rev. Bro. Dhanran (Montfort School) - appreciated the work of IDF. Dr. ARK Pillai complimented all the social supporters. IDF grants are given out of donations received from public. Awards to Corporate Team, NGO Partners and Social Ambassadors were given at this function. Kendriya Vidyalaya No.2, Tambaram, Chennai played soulful music and put up a skit on TB Awareness.

A Talk on Leadership Skills in Kalam Style by Dr. A.P. Jayaraman at St. John's School
Nuclear Scientist Dr. A P Jayraman, a fellow scientist of Dr. Kalam addressed the students of grade IX and X of St. John's School, Goregaon (w), Mumbai and apprise them to integrate Science in the everyday life. He also inspired them to develop leadership skills in Dr. Kalam's way. Students were spellbound and did not want the session to come to an end. An enthralling and enriching opportunity for our students.
