Salaam to Kalam - Paying rich tributes to our dear Dr. APJ Sir
Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, a renowned space scientist, was the President of India for a full term and he raised the stature of India to great heights. Dr Kalam endeared himself to every Indian by his simplicity and goodness. He interacted with the millions of students and youth of the country and brought in visible changes in their outlook. His interactions with foreign groups during his travels changed their mindsets.
Dr. Kalam spent time with students in universities and research institutions to upgrade them to international levels. He will be remembered for his great contribution to India's march towards scientific discoveries.
IDF recalls Dr. Kalam's abiding interest in the working of our Foundation and the encouragement we received during a few meetings we had at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in 2005 and in BR Hills celebrating his birthday with the tribals children. The idea for building IDF Centre of Excellence initiated by Dr. Kalam in 2007 got fruition in March 2015.
Dr Kalam remained as the most popular President of India. Even on retirement from his exalted office, he spent his time and energies in developing the nation and addressing on youth development.
His untimely death brings shock and sorrow to all Indians. We pray to God to grant his soul peace and tranquility.
