IDF launches 120th Bal Gurukul and 7th Women Empowerment Programme.

Indian Development Foundation launched its 120th Bal Gurukul and 7th Women Empowerment Programme for the Badaga community of Denalai Village in The Nilgiris in Tamil Nadu on 9th June 2013. The year 2013 is the observed as the 120th year of Swami Vivekananda's historic voyage from Mumbai to Chicago to address the Parliament of Religions. Thus the 120th Bal Gurukul of IDF is named as Swami Vivekananda Bal Gurukul.

A warm reception was extended to IDF team during the visit to the village in a most traditional manner. The surrounding hills and greenery added serenity to the entire programme. IDF will be providing vocational training to the women here. Though the women here are engaged in farming and plucking tea-leaves, the additional training provided through IDF Women Empowerment Cell will help them to empower and enrich lives.

IDF also announced an additional women empowerment programme for the women in Kethorai village thus adding two new women programmes inn the Blue Mountains. IDF is committed to reach the unreached and spread goodness all round. All these have been possible with the continued support that we receive from samaritans and well-wishers.
