Helping hands from SVKM Law College

Three students from SVKM Law College, Vile Parle, Mumbai decided to do something different. Students can play an important role in social transformation and IDF gives an excellent opportunity to render service to the society, the trio thought.

Radhika Sharma, Nida Kazi and Vijay Tiwari, third year law students from SVKM gave their time for social work after their regular college. We really felt happy spending our last 21 days of 2008 with IDF. We learnt a lot and also shared our experience with the children in IDF projects. As it was the festive season, we decided to sell greeting cards, calendars and various items made by the underprivileged children and physically challenged persons of IDF projects. It was really interesting visiting various places and meeting people. Social work has given us a new vista of life, the students expressed.

The students also had the opportunity of putting up an NGO stall of IDF in Prerna 2008 organised by SIESCOMS, Nerul. We could convince many people to buy IDF products and we were successful in our approach, Radhika said.

Participating in the citizens reach-out programme celebrating New Year with leprosy patients and children of Vimala Dermatological Centre was really a fantastic experience, Nida and Vijay pointed out. We felt very happy to see the children of the centre cheered up with the celebrations around, the trio mentioned in chorus.

Though it was a social responsibility project for us from our college, but as New Year Resolution we are going to continue our activities for the welfare of the people during our spare time and IDF being our main base for social development, we dedicated our service for the society, Radhika, Nida and Vijay said with a smile.

Let noble thoughts come to us from everyside.
