Jai Hind ðŸ‡®ðŸ‡³ Jai ho...

Awareness is the key to end TB – Mithali Raj..

You can make history by being part of the national Tuberculosis control programme. Lets come together and fight out TB. It gives me immense pleasure to help social causes undertaken by Indian Development Foundation (IDF) and spread happiness all around, expressed Mithali Raj.
Indian Women Cricket Captain Mithali Raj was speaking at the Press Conference held at Hyderabad Press Club on 5.3.18.. For World TB Day 2018 which falls on 24th March, Mithali Raj, Indian Women Cricket Captain is the IDF’s Brand Ambassador for TB awareness programme to be done across India. Indian Development Foundation (IDF) has brought out a multi-lingual TB awareness poster with Mithali Raj’s photo saying India v/s TB – India jeetega, TB Haarega. Mithali also endorsed the message, TB is curable – Let’s strike-out TB. The multi-lingual poster will help in connecting patients and doctors and lead to early detection and cure. Indian Development Foundation team will distributed the posters to all the institutions across India to create massive awareness.
Mithali Raj was joined by Dr. Narayan Iyer, CEO and Sanjay Ram, Project Co-ordinator of IDF. Dr. Suryaprakash, State TB Officer from Telangana, Dr. Sneha Shukla, WHO Consultant, RNTCP Partners working in TB control programme in Telangana and Mr. Madhusudan Rao, IDF Patron and Chairman of Delhi School of Excellence were also present at conference.
World TB Day falls on 24th of March and the entire world machinery involved in TB work get involved in creating massive awareness and reach out the community at large.
Awareness is the only answer to end TB. IDF reaches millions of students through educational institutions across India to create awareness. IDF is a Partner of the StopTB Partnership of WHO. IDF is involved in massive TB awareness campaigns through various educational institutions, B-Schools and Colleges and various institutions across India.
IDF is spearheading in TB Awareness programmes across the country. India is the world capital of TB. “TB kills an estimated 480,000 Indians every year and more than 1,400 every day. India also has more than a million ‘missing’ cases every year that are not notified and most remain either undiagnosed or unaccountably and inadequately diagnosed and treated in the private sector. This despite the fact that India as a nation has been engaged in TB control for over 50 years now.”
IDF had earlier got the support of Grand Master Vishwanathan Anand, Cricket Legend Anil Kumble, India's No.1 Women Boxing Champion Mary Kom, Tennis Legend Leander Paes and Olympian, India's Ace Shooter Gagan Narang, Olympian Dhanraj Pillay, Indian Football Legend I.M. Vijayan and India's Ace Cueist Pankaj Advani supporting World Health Organisation's IDF-Stop TB cause.
Indian Development Foundation is a leading national NGO working for health, education and development. IDF networks with 120 health projects, 200 Bal Gurukuls and 12 Women Empowerment Projects in India.
